Busy Little Bee with a Dining Room Set to Sell!

Sorry for being such a disappointment lately, ya'll.  But between work (I am in charge of launching a new product line and brand...well all the related promotional efforts), our new house (we move in three weeks!) and a few other odds and ends, I have not had much time to put towards le blog.

Unfortunately, I am only here for one purpose: to try to sell to you! ...cringe... As all my friends know, selling is quite difficult for me, especially to people I like, so I apologize in advance. But here it is: Travis and I are moving out of state, technically speaking, and we are hoping to avoid moving with our lovely dining room set (shown below) which will be slightly too big for our new dining room.  It's in really good condition, looks awesome, and is highly functional.

I would love for it to have a new home with someone who will like it as much as I have so if you are interested, or know someone who might be, send me an email.   Here is the link on Craig's List too.

A French Chateau, Horse Stables, and a Man of Mystery

I recently ran across this interesting article in Vanity Fair featuring Prince Karim, the fourth Aga Khan, and thought I would share with all of you. I know, already it all sounds very foreign, but politics /religion aside, his story is worth a read. Perhaps of even greater interest are the truly spectacular photos of his impressive chateau and horse stables in Chantilly, France.

Winter Fever

I am officially over winter.  Cold temperatures, dreary skies, icy sidewalks, and the endless scraping of cars has me craving summer, or at least a vacation. Of course the new lineup of Spring Break necessities in  stores certainly doesn't help matters.

Naturally, I already have my wish list of items for warmer days.

Tory Burch Fall 2013

I am loving the old fashioned flair  featured in Tory Burch's latest line.  Peter Pan collars,dropped waist lines, rich colors (especially love the combo of black and blush) and stunning beading.  If only I had a reason to purchase all the lady-like pieces!

His decorative style and that of other Art Nouveau greats like René Lalique influenced the free-spirited and romantic mood of the collection. Mardi Gras

Happy Mardi Gras aka Shrove Tuesday aka Fat Tuesday! I am celebrating the day by indulging in some serious decadent treats as I suggest you do as well.  In fact, I think I might try making these bad boys:

Salted Caramel Brownies!  And then I am off of sweets for Lent.  And Diet Coke.

Turban Headbands?

What are your thoughts on turbans? headbands?  What about the two combined, a la:

I like them. A lot.

I realize the combo has been cool for a few years now among the trendsetters, and is an accessory well documented within gypset's style books (and literally in the book entitled Gypset Style by Julie Chaplin.)  I have never thought they were really all that wearable.

Well, since seeing turban-style headbands more recently on the Spring 2013 runways of Marc by Marc Jacobs, my interest in the look was renewed! I have been on the lookout for a more practical version and I think I finally found the one!

Reasonable size. Reasonable price. Reasonable style. Sold.

Black and Tans

I am digging Kate Spade's latest black and nude combinations. Feminine and classic with a little edge and perfect details (love the bows!).  She has something for everyone, at least those who are looking for a special treat for Valentine's Day.  Just sayin'!
